Fulkalender part 13 – 11 Dec
11 Dec – Feelings in felt
We love cookie cutters cause they are good for so much more than cookie dough. You can use them to decorate your Christmas cards with pigs and goats cut from paper in the shape from the cookie cutters. You can glue photos in them and use the cutters as frames and hang them in the Christmas tree. At Christmas it is fun to decorate the table a little more special and nicer and todays fulkalender contains napkin holders made out of felt. This is an easy craft, you can finish in five minutes or take your time and decorate your napkin holders. We’ve made ours out of felt but you can use what ever you’ve got at home fleece works good and use some pattern fabric for the cookie shapes.
1. You need cookie cutters, felt, scissors, pen, paper and if you like to embroider yarn and a needle.
2.Draw along the cookie cutters shape and make yourself a pattern out of paper.
3. Cut out a square which will be the pattern for your napkin holder. Ours is 19 cm long and 3 cm wide.
4. Put your pattern on the fabric and cut it out.
5. You can either make the whole napkin holder out of one fabric or make the holder and the cookie cutter shape from twi different fabrics.
6. Choose which shapes you want, maybe they will match those who are coming to dinner?
7. Cut to v-shapes out of the fabric so you will be able to close it around the napkin.
8. This is what it looks like closed.
