30 November – Get a  super star

We got ourselves a plain white paper star. We wanted a tough and cool star so we also went to a second hand comic store and got some superhero comics. We bought superhero comics with bright colors and the rough vintage like paper. When we flipped through our comics we really loved The incredible Hulks look and color so we decided to make a green super star.

What kind of star you make all depend on what kind of comics you choose. Maybe you like horses or girl comics. Are you a fan of Archie or Garfield? Do you have a book case filled with old Donald Duck comics or do you have a lot of Manga you want to put to better use? Make a star!

1. You need a star, scissors, a brush, ordinary cheap paper glue the kind that dries white, a container for your glue, and a small glass of water.

2.Start with cutting out a whole bunch of images from your comics. You will need images in all sizes and shapes. A tip is tor sort them in to different colors and make the points of your star into different colors. We wanted three points hulk green and two points to contrast in a red brown colors.

3. Poor glue into the container.

4. Dip your brush slightly into the water only to make it a little wet, not dripping with water.

5. Dip your wet brush in the glue so  until you get a  light easy to apply glue on your brush.

6. Apply the glue on your star where you want to put your first image.

7. Attach your image to your star.

8. Continue to stroke out some glue and attaching images to the star you can also apply a little glue on top of the images while you are working. But be careful and don’t get the star too wet, it can make it hard to work with. But don’t worry if it gets a little out of shapes it dries straight.

9. Continue around all the points of your star. You can work together with the star in the center of the table.

10. We’ve almost covered the whole star now.

11. Finish off by applying a coat of glue all over the star. Let i dry before you flip it and apply glue on the  other side.

12. When the glue has dried it leaves a shiny surface. If you want it even shinier apply a second coat of glue.

13. A super star finished and in the window. It brightens a dull grey November 30th.
